PRINCE WILLIAM ‘FURIOUS’ AT HARRY AND MEGHAN

Sources claimed that Prince William is very “irritated” at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because they chose to call his wife “Kate” instead of “Catherine”, as per Daily Beast.

This was reportedly in the Sussexes public statement, when Prince Harry and Meghan wished Kate well when she revealed her cancer diagnosis in March.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” read the statement.

Prince William’s friend suggested that the use of “Kate” instead of ‘Catherine’ was thought of as a deliberate “fact that Harry and Meghan were unable to bring themselves to use her chosen name, even when they were sending her get-well-soon messages after her cancer diagnosis, was noted.”

“William takes offense at people calling Catherine ‘Kate,’ because she has asked to be known as Catherine. It’s a fairly simple wish to respect. I’m sure Meghan wouldn’t like it if William started publicly calling her ‘Meghan Markle,’” said the friend told Daily Beast.

According to Hindustan Times, Kate has preferred to be called Catherine. She was widely known as Kate during her school and university years, but thereafter made a decision to switch to her full name, Catherine. This was before she married Prince William in April 2011.

The Princess of Wales introduces herself as Catherine in official and social settings. However, media outlets continue to refer to her as Kate Middleton.

“So as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there, and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good,” she continued.

Pauley then said, “you hope that when your children ask for help, someone, you know, is there to give it.” Prince Harry then chimed in saying, “If you know how to help.”

Former actress Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry sat down with  Jane Pauley to discuss a new program called The Parent Network, through their Archewell Foundation. The program aims to support parents whose children have been impacted by traumas related to social media use, according to People.

The Mirror reports that The Parents’ Network had a successful two-year pilot programme, and is now available for parents to join in the US, UK and Canada

The pre-recorded segment aired on CBS Sunday Morning on 4 August. In the interview, Pauley asked Meghan about her decision to open up about having suicidal thoughts and self-harm in their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Meghan explained that the healing journey is important when you’ve been open about it.

“When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey is being able to be really open about it,” said Meghan.

She went on to say that she has not scraped the surface of her experience, which took place when she was pregnant for her son Archie, who is now five years old.

“I haven’t really scraped the surface on my experience but I would never want someone else to make those plans, or for someone else to not be believed. I think you have to start somewhere, look at it through the lens of what if that was my son, or my daughter. If you look at it through the lens of being a parent, you know there is no other solution,” she continued.

PRINCE HARRY ON ONLINE BULLYING

Meghan went on to say that if speaking about her experience helps someone her, then it was all worth it.

“If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone or encourage someone in their life to really, genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good so everything is OK, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that,” she said.

Meghan’s husband, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry also spoke about the dangers of online bullying.

“That’s the scariest thing, it could happen to anybody. We always talk about in the olden days if you’re children were under your roof they would be safe, you knew what they were up to,” he said.

Royal author Christopher Andersen claims that Prince Harry could have been cut off from the inheritance he will receive when he turns 40 on 15 September. The Duchy of Cornwall published the Integrated Annual Report revealing a surplus of £23.6 million (R560 million) for the 2023-2024 financial year on Thursday 24 July. People reports this sum covers the official, charitable and private expenses of Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children. Prince William and Kate Middleton are parents to Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6).

This financial year was Prince William’s first full year as the Duke of Cornwall. Prince William inherited the title and Duchy of Cornwall estate when his father, King Charles ascended to the throne. King Charles ascended to the throne when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II died on 8 September 2022.

ROYAL FAMILY URGED TO ‘SEVER ALL TIES’ TO PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN

The New York Post reports that the royal family has been urged to “sever all ties” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in order to avoid more controversies. Prince Harry and Meghan quit their duties as senior working members of the royal family in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California, where they started a new life with their two kids – Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3).

Royal commentator Dee Dee Dunleavy said that the royals should avoid any talks of reconciliation with Prince Harry and Meghan.

“There’s talk that William is the enforcer, the tough guy of the royal family. King Charles is a pushover, I think he’d take Harry back in a heartbeat,” Dunleavy said to Sky News Australia.

Dunleavy also claimed that Prince William has taken on the role of his grandfather, Prince Phillip, as a tough guy. So, Dunleavy feels Prince William has a strong feeling towards Prince Harry and can’t see him rejoining the family.

“William’s taken on the role that Prince Phillip had, he was the tough guy. I can see William’s point of view as well, he’s more protective of the upset that Harry caused while the Queen was in her dying weeks.”

“That’s probably why William has such a strong feeling toward Harry, but I just can’t see [Prince Harry rejoining the family] happening,” she added.

Dunleavy went on to urge the royals to “sever all ties” with the Sussexes. This is “because that then devalues their currency.”

“If they’re not former royals and can’t keep referring to that, then all Meghan’s little schemes to make money, they’re clearly not worth anything,” she added.

PRINCE WILLIAM BANNED PRINCE HARRY FROM RETURNING TO ROYAL FAMILY?

The claims by Dunleavy come after oyal expert Hilary Fordwich claimed that Prince William “banned” Prince Harry from rejoining the royal family. Fordwich claims that Prince William has refused to speak to Prince Harry since the release of his controversial memoir Spare.

“It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape or form into his former royal family fold,” she told Fox News.

“If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge, who still misses his ‘darling boy’ and would like to see more of Prince Harry. However, to this day, after the release of ‘Spare’ and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it’s Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother,” she said.

This comes after reports claimed that King Charles was “frustrated” that he only sees Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet over Facetime.

TOM QUINN CLAIMS PRINCE HARRY MISSES HIS FRIENDS

Royal expert Tom Quinn claimed that Prince Harry is missing his home country, and he is “bored” of his “difficult” wife, Meghan Markle. Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot on 19 May 2018 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Two years later, the pair quit their roles as senior working members of the royal family and moved to California, US to start a new life with their family.

Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, who worked for King Charles, said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will never get back their original relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Bower claimed that David felt isolated and unable to go near Prince Harry during the Invictus Games event organised by the royals in Sydney, Australia in October that year. This incident made him realise that something was wrong, as he was purportedly distanced himself from the Duke of Sussex.

“Arriving on the agreed day to meet Prince Harry he was perplexed [as to] why officials were playing a dance to keep him happy, but away from Harry. Beckham found himself alone at the Invictus Games stadium,” wrote Bower.

DAVID BECKHAM FELT ‘DISRESPECTED’

The former football star reportedly inquired about why he couldn’t spend time with Prince Harry and later found out that the the prince had clearly stated that the footballer was not to be allowed close to him in any way.” This reportedly led to him feeling “disrespected”.

The book also claims that Beckham later learnt the exclusion was due to Meghan.

“The exclusion order, it later transpired, was issued by Meghan,” wrote Bower. The reason for this was reportedly because: “She did not want any competition in the media from Beckham, and especially not from his wife Victoria.”

Fpur years after the alleged snub, The Beckhams reportedly took an “act of revenge” and crossed continents to attend a prestigious event in Boston to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton. This was during the same time as Prince Harry and Meghan were participating in a event in New York. Bower suggests that the Boston event took the limelight away from Prince Harry and Meghan.

“Beckham had got his revenge for the Sydney snub,” wrote Bower.

Anne, 73, suffered concussion and minor head injuries at Gatcombe Park in southwestern England on Sunday evening and was taken to hospital in Bristol.

It is believed she was struck by a horse as she was walking within the protected perimeter of the sprawling estate, which hosts equestrian events.

The princess’s medical team said at the time her injuries were consistent with a potential impact from a horse’s head or legs.

Princess Anne is a skilled horsewoman

The Princess Royal, as she is also known, is a skilled horsewoman who competed at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and has a reputation as the hardest-working royal.

He thanked the medical team at Southmead Hospital “for their care, expertise and kindness during my wife’s short stay”.

Buckingham Palace said on Monday that Anne was in hospital “as a precautionary measure for observation and was expected to make a full and swift recovery”.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers shared a video of an emotional sit down between Prince Harry and the charity’s founder Nikki Scott. Prince Harry chatted to Scott about the effect of bereavement on children, and he opened up about losing his mom, Princess Diana.

Princess Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris, France on 31 August 1997. At the time, the Duke of Sussex was just 12 years old. He expressed that a lot of kids do not like speaking about the loss of the parent because it makes them sad.

“You convince yourself that the person you’ve lost wants you, or you need to be sad for as long as possible to prove to them that they are missed. But then there’s this realisation of, no they must want me to be happy,” said Prince Harry according to Hello Magazine.

Scott then said that Scotty’s Little Soldiers teaches bereaved military children to celebrate their parent’s life. He went on to express that it is important not to supress emotions of grief.

“That’s the hardest thing, especially for kids, I think, which is, ‘I don’t want to talk about it because it will make me sad, but once realising if I do talk about it, and I’m celebrating their life, then actually, things become easier,” he continued.

This comes after Prince Harry revealed that he only cried once after his mother’s passing. The Duke of Sussex explained that this was at the burial, in an interview with Tom Bradby in January 2023.

“I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail [in Spare] about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt, and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace,” he said, according to BBC.

“There were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling…And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn’t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away,” he continued.

Prince Harry went on to say that he and his brother, future King, Prince William were unable to show emotion in the moment.

“Everyone thought and felt like they knew our mum, and the two closest people to her, the two most loved people by her, were unable to show any emotion in that moment,” he added.

THE HORSE ‘INCIDENT’

Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Anne had been rushed to hospital via a statement on Monday 24 June. Princess Anne was said to have been hospitalised as a precaution after an “incident” at her home on Sunday evening (23 June). The daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth and late Prince Phillip, known as Princess Royal, was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, UK and was said to have sustained “minor injuries”.

“The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery,” read the statement.

“The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” the statement continued.

PRINCESS ANNE’S INJURIES ‘COULD BE SERIOUS’

The Independent reported that Princess Anne suffered a concussion after she was kicked by a horse. Princess Anne reportedly suffered temporary memory loss after the incident, according to The Telegraph. The Princess is known for her love for horses as she is an Olympic-medal-winning horsewoman.

Royal expert Michael Cole said Princess Anne’s injuries could be serious.

“The fact the Princess Royal was detained in hospital overnight indicates that it’s not a minor matter. It’s no small thing to have a concussion at any age, but at the age of 73, it could be serious,” he said to Metro.

Princess Anne was first married to Captain Mark Phillips from 1973 to 1992. Months after she divorced Phillips, she married Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992. Princess Anne is a mother of two – Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall.

BBC reports that Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence visited Princess Anne at Southmead Hospital for two hours on Tuesday 25 June. After leaving the main entrance of the hospital he said that she is doing fine.

“She’s doing fine, slow but sure,” he said.

Sir Tim Lawrence also said that they are grateful to the medical tea, according to BBC.

“We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care – and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene,” he said.

He continued: “We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.”

MEGHAN MARKLE’S FATHER PLEADS TO SEE GRANDCHILDREN

Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle has pleaded to see his grandchildren before his 80th birthday. Thomas Markle turns 80 on 18 July. He has a rocky relationship with his daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, who he welcomed with ex-wife Doria Ragland. Thomas and Doria were married from 1979 to 1987. She was his second wife, he was married to Roslyn Markle from 1964 to 1975.

Meghan married the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry in 2018. Together the pair have two children together – Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3). Prince Harry and Meghan quit their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020. The pair then moved to Montecito, California where they started a new life with their own family.

Thomas has compared himself to Prince Harry’s father, King Charles III in a new interview. He expressed that they are both dealing with health issues while being estranged from Prince Harry and Meghan. King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February.

“I would love to speak to him (King Charles) because I am sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do,” said to Thomas to the Daily Mail.

“Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received. He is going through cancer treatment, and I’m not in the best of health,” he continued.

SAME BOAT AS KING CHARLES?

Thomas believes he and King Charles are in the same boat, and are being “treated badly.”

“I have so many questions I’d like to ask Meghan and Harry. The main one being, why have they treated not only me but the royal family and the king so badly?” he said.

Thomas went on to say that he is yet to meet his grandchildren – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Both of the Sussex kids were born after he and his daughter became estranged. According to Page Six, this happened when he staged paparazzi photos just before Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018.

“They have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the king of England. I never in my 80 years thought I’d be in the same boat as the king,” he continued.

Thomas went on to say that the Sussex kids are “getting to the age where they will start asking questions.” So, he thinks it is only a matter of time until they “realise all the things they have missed out on” because of Prince Harry and Meghan’s actions.

Thomas also said that his only wish for his upcoming 80th birthday is to hear from Meghan, but he thinks she won’t be in touch.

This comes after reports claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan have extended an olive branch to Kate Middleton, who revealed her cancer diagnosis in March.

KING CHARLES AND KATE MIDDLETON’S BATTLE WITH CANCER

It has been a difficult year for Prince William and his family so his far. In February, Buckingham Palace revealed King Charles cancer diagnosis via a statement.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” read the statement.

In March, Princess Kate revealed that she also had cancer, via an emotional video shared on X.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she said as she is seen seated on a garden bench at Windsor Castle.

In her speech, Princess Kate revealed that she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she continued.

Princess Kate has reportedly been out and about with her family amid her cancer battle. She has since shared an update on her health, via an emotional letter. The Princess of Wales said that she is making good progress but she has her good and bad days.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days, you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well,” she wrote, according to People.

She went on to reveal that she will be continuing with the treatment for a few more months.

Kate, as she is widely known, rode in a carriage alongside her three children at the outset of the annual celebration before disembarking to watch proceedings from a viewing point.

Princess of Wales not seen since Christmas Day 2023

It comes nearly three months after the future queen revealed she was receiving chemotherapy treatment. The 42-year-old princess had not been seen at a public engagement since a Christmas Day service last year.

In a Friday evening statement Kate said she was “making good progress” with her treatment, which is set to last for several more months, but was “not out of the woods yet”.

“I’m looking forward to attending the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer,” the princess said.

Kate’s announcement that she had cancer came just weeks after it was disclosed that her father-in-law, King Charles III, had also been diagnosed with the condition.

Neither has revealed what type of cancer they have.

British head of state Charles, 75, was given the green light to resume public duties in April, after doctors said they were “very encouraged” by his progress.

His first engagement was meeting staff and patients at a London cancer treatment centre.

Earlier this month, he attended commemoration events in northern France for the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

‘Our future queen’

However, unlike previous years when he inspected troops on horseback at Trooping the Colour, Charles participated this year from a carriage, in full military regalia alongside Queen Camilla.

His elder son and heir William, 41, rode on horseback, also in military uniform.

The Princess of Wales, wearing a white dress and hat, had been seen arriving by car at Buckingham Palace with William and their children ahead of the parade, which formally began at 12:00 (SA time).

Spectators on The Mall leading to Buckingham Palace to witness the yearly ceremonial event welcomed Kate’s tentative return to public appearances.

“I was so pleased to hear the news last night,” Angela Perry, a teacher in her 50s from Reading in central England, told AFP.

“She’s our future queen. She’s so important,” she added, calling Kate’s reemergence “reassuring”.

Royal officials will be keen to manage expectations about Kate’s gradual return to the public eye, and have maintained that her appearances will depend on her treatment and recovery.

Kate explained in her statement that she had “good days and bad days” and was “taking each day as it comes”.

After travelling with Prince George, aged 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis in a state carriage to watch the parade from a building, the family were set to return to Buckingham Palace for a balcony appearance.

Protests

Trooping the Colour marks the British sovereign’s official birthday and is a minutely choreographed military tradition dating back more than two centuries.

It starts at Buckingham Palace and moves down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade, where Charles will receive a royal salute before inspecting soldiers.

Charles was actually born in November but the second birthday tradition dates back to King George II in 1748, who wanted to have a celebration in better weather as his own birthday was in October.

The ceremony has its origins in the preparations for war, where all regimental flags – or colours – were shown to the soldiers so that they would recognise them in the confusion of battle.

This year’s event will include three of five military horses that bolted through the streets of central London in April after being spooked by the noise of building construction.

London’s Metropolitan Police said it would mount a “significant” security operation and had been liaising with anti-monarchy group Republic, which kicked off protests at the event.

The force said it had banned “amplified sound” in and around the parade route on public safety grounds and to avoid disruption to the mounted regiments taking part.

Republic’s activists, who huddled on a section of The Mall alongside royalists, held aloft placards bearing slogans including “not my king” and “down with the crown”.
