Actress Kamogelo Maree recently secured the role of Thoriso More in Scandal!

KAMOGELO MAREE: ‘IT’BEEN AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE’

The 27-year-old actress Kamogelo Maree tells Sowetan that Scandal! that she took a leap of faith when she auditioned for the role.

Maree adds that the show was looking for a female person living with disability, when she was auditioning.

“So far, it’s been an amazing experience. I used to participate in local stage dramas but I knew being on TV is where I wanted to be since I was a young girl.” 

Her character, Thoriso More is legendary actor Seputla Sebogodi’s on-screen daughter. 

“What I love about my character, Thoriso, is that she’s independent, goal driven and full of life no matter her circumstances. She always finds a way to sail through hardships and puts on her big girl shoes and makes the most out of life with passion,” adds Maree. 

‘SCANDAL!’ WELCOMES THORISO MORE

The soapie, Scandal! introduced the actress Kamogelo Maree on Wednesday, 7 August as Taps’ (Moses Mabuza) sister.

“Being blind doesn’t stand a chance against her standing her ground! Introducing Thoriso More, played by Kamogelo Maree, a remarkable individual with a unique perspective on the world,” said the soapie.

Her on-screen father Seputla Sebogodi plays the role of Kgopolo More, while her mother is played by actress Keitu Kasonkola.

Former The Queen actor Lebohang Msiza plays her younger brother, Tiro More.

The e.tv soapie, Scandal! announced on Wednesday, 10 July that the show plays Monday to Sunday.

“Scandal! to air every day. The e.tv soapie is expanding its episode offering. The show will be airing 7 days a week. Brand new episodes will now be broadcast from Mondays to Sundays.”

The Broadcast Research Council of SA (BRCSA) July figures reveal that the show received 3.6 million.
