WATCH: Siya Kolisi’s special speech to Dricus du Plessis
Check out this memorable moment between Siya Kolisi and Dricus du Plessis ahead of a special sporting weekend in Perth.
On Saturday the Springboks will take on the Wallabies in Perth, while Dricus du Plessis will aim to defend his UFC middleweight world championship just a few hours later.
Du Plessis’ bout is expected to get underway at around 06:30 (SA time) this Sunday – depending on how long the undercard fights last – while the Springboks’ game against the Wallabies will conclude around 14:00 the day before.
On the eve of these blockbuster battles, a special get together was hosted in Perth, with Springboks such as Siya Kolisi, Eben Etzebeth, RG Snyman and Aphelele Fassi all gathering to wish Du Plessis well.
In a video shared to social media, Kolisi delivers a special speech to Du Plessis, before the UFC super star responds to share what it means to have the support of the Springboks and South Africa behind him.

Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed that Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth are set to form part of Dricus du Plessis’ entrance walk to the Octagon.
Speaking to KFM breakfast show host Darren Simpson this week, the UFC champion confirmed that he would have some special companions alongside him.
“We’re busy with that, getting Eben and Siya to walk out with us, it looks like it’s basically going to be a done deal,” said the 30-year-old.
“We are going to have them walk out with me. They won’t be sitting in the corner, but they will be walking with me to the octagon, which is pretty special.
“The Boks are playing, they are the pride of South Africa, and then I’m fighting, all on the same weekend. Talk about stars aligning.
“Once I put that South African flag around my shoulders, there is nothing in the world that can stop me. He can knock me down, but he won’t knock me out and he won’t keep me down.”
SPRINGBOKS BACK THEIR BOYTJIE
Dricus du Plessis is a staunch Springboks supporter and attended several of South Africa’s World Cup playoff matches, including the final against the All Blacks.
Video clips of Du Plessis wildly celebrating the Springboks’ title triumph in the stadium went viral at the time.
Prior to his last fight against Sean Strickland, a host of Springboks then returned the favour as they sent him messages of support ahead of the bout.
