Rassie Erasmus has sent FOUR Springboks back to their respective unions.

The Springboks have released FOUR players from the current squad.

Meaning, the released quartet of Rugby World Cup winners will return to the Sharks, Bulls and Stormers.

SPRINGBOKS RELEASE FOUR RWC WINNERS

Makazole Mapimpi, Canan Moodie, Manie Libbok and Steven Kitshoff will all be available for selection in the Currie Cup this weekend after being sent back to their clubs.

Therefore, Mapimpi will be available for the Sharks.

Meanwhile, Moodie could feature for the Bulls.

Finally, Stormers fan-favourites, Libbok and Kitshoff are also available for selection for the Cape-based outfit this weekend.

“Erasmus released four players – Steven Kitshoff (prop), Manie Libbok (flyhalf), Canan Moodie and Makazole Mapimpi (both wings) – to their provincial unions on Wednesday afternoon to get game time in the Carling Currie Cup this weekend,” the statement read on SARugby.

SHORT RETURN TO GET GAMETIME BEFORE CAPE TOWN TRIP

All four men are still in the Springboks set up.

Moreover, they were only released to get some much-needed game time. Kitshoff has been out of action for several months and is in need of some playing time before he returns to play for the Boks. Furthermore, Moodie recently returned after missing months of action.

Libbok, on the other hand, has struggled for gametime with the Springboks this season. So, some playing time will do his confidence a world of good. Finally, Mapimpi will want to keep warm as he keeps the likes of Kurt-lee Arendse and Cheslin Kolbe on their toes.

Therefore, all four players will likely join up with the Boks when they fly to Cape Town.

DO YOU THINK ANY OF THESE SPRINGBOKS SHOULD PLAY AGAINST THE ALL BLACKS IN CAPE TOWN?
